Are you back from holiday over the festive season and possibly sitting with some lovely photo's. Why not tackle a craft project with your child using some of your favorite pictures. The following article was written by Christine Stewart where she suggest some crafty ideas. Does the "second set free" bonus at your local photo shop leave you with lots of leftovers? Let the kids have the unused doubles for imaginative projects that you will love to display!

• Let kids create a family tree by drawing a tree trunk on a sheet of sturdy brown paper, then glue on photos of family members.
• Let kids cut up extra photos to make homemade comic strips, adding dialogue balloons cut from paper.
• Glue a photo to cardboard. Trim the cardboard so it's the same size as the photo. On the cardboard side, have kids write a message to a favorite relative or friend. Then lightly pencil in a jigsaw puzzle design over the message (straight lines are easiest!) and cut along the lines. Put the pieces into an envelope and mail to the recipient for an unusual correspondence!
• Buy magnetic sheets at a craft store, then have kids glue photos onto the nonmagnetic side. Cut out the photos' backgrounds, if desired, and use as refrigerator magnets. These also make great gifts.
• Have kids glue photos of family and friends onto index cards, print names and telephone numbers on them, punch two holes on the top of each card and tie them together with ribbon, yarn or string to create a kid-perfect telephone directory.
• Kids can also glue small photos of loved ones to the center of artificial flowers to create a unique bouquet. Cut the photos into circles for best results.
• To make a special place mat, cut a piece of clear contact paper to place-mat size and remove the adhesive cover; place a round doily in the middle to mark a space for the plate. Have kids surround the doily with photos. Cover with another sheet of clear contact paper and trim edges if necessary.
